The hospitality industry is currently the fastest growing segment of China’s service industry with great development prospects.It is gradually becoming a pillar industry in the service industry.The number of high-end hotels in China has increased every year,and the hotel industry has a strong demand for hotel management talents.Therefore,the teaching and training of hospitality professionals is now a challenge for management schools and hotels.Hotel interns can solve the problem of insufficient staff in the hotel to a certain extent.Meanwhile,the interns can stay in the hotel directly after graduation.However,the hotel interns are currently unable to work for a long time because of the poor welfare and other incentive problems.They can not get effective training and development.The research on the incentives of hotel management talents can well solve the employment stability problem of hotel employees.Thus,it has a profound research significance for the hotel to retain talents.At present,there are many researches on incentives in China,and there are also some systematic research results.But there are few incentive studies for hotel interns.This paper first introduces the status quo of Sanya hotel industry,summarizes the research results of relevant experts and scholars at home and abroad,expounds the concept and characteristics of incentives,defines the concept of hotel interns.It introduces the theoretical basis of incentives,including Hertzberg’s Motivator-Hygiene Theory,Adams’ Equity Theory,Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs,etc.,and summarizes the research at home and abroad,and studies the successful experience of hotel interns incentive management.This paper takes the interns from the hotel department of HH College in Sanya as the research object,introduces the operation and management of high star-rated hotels in Sanya and the distribution of internships of HH College hotel-major students.Through the form of questionnaires,it summarizes the incentive management of interns in Sanya HH College hotel department.The existing problems are analyzed from the two aspects of hotel factors and personal factors.According to the causes of the problems,the optimization scheme of the incentive mechanism for interns in Sanya high star-rated hotels is put forward by combining the theories of equity theory and two-factor theory.Finally,the research results of this paper are summarized,and the shortcomings and prospects are put forward. |
