Since the proposal of building a well-off society in an all-round way, rural areas have always been the focus of attention of the state and society.Especially in the first one hundred years, poverty alleviation program and targeted poverty alleviation have become the hot topics at present, and thus China's rural areas have once again caught the attention of the whole country and the world. The reason why rural areas are so important is not only because rural economic development is closely related to the economic development of the entire country, but also because rural areas are closely related to people's livelihood and to the fundamental interests of the lowest class people. As an important indicator of rural economic development, rural public products are of great importance to improving the quality of life of peasants and promoting rural social harmony. However,it is an indisputable fact that the current situation of China's rural public goods supply cannot meet the growing needs of farmers, and the supply of rural public goods is in urgent need of fresh blood input.Self-supply,as the original mode of supply for public goods, can effectively make up for the government and the market supply. However,it has not been able to play its proper role. The root cause is that the conflict between individual interests and collective interests in the supply process has leads to the dilemma of self-supply.Therefore,is self-supply just an elusive ideal? The rural social capital with local characteristics provides a way out of the self-supply dilemma. The relationship network, trust and norms embodied in rural social capital can constrain the speculative behavior of individuals in self-supply,thereby affecting the decision-making behavior of farmers in the process of self-supply.In order to clarify the role of rural social capital in the process of self-supply,this paper takes rural households as the main supply of rural public goods and conducts a systematic study of the behavior of the rural households' autonomous provision of rural public goods based on the survey data of 646 samples of rural households in Shandong Province.First of all,by collecting and sorting the literature of social capital, choosing factor analysis method to calculate the social capital index of each dimension, and then adding the weights of each dimension, the paper calculates the individual index of social capital and the village collective social capital index.Secondly, based on the analysis of the feasibility of the farmers' self-supply of public products, the paper establishes the game model and analyzes the mechanism of the social capital of each dimension on thewillingness of farmers to independently participate in the participation of public products. Finally, the paper uses Probit model to empirically analyze the influence and effect of social capital on farmers' willingness to participation in public goods supply in various levels and dimensions.Through theoretical and empirical analysis available,it can be concluded that rural social capital consists of different dimensions such as social networks, trust, prestige and participation, the social network of rural communities is small and the level of participation is low at present. In addition, from the aggregate point of view, both of individual farmers and village collective social capital have a significant role in promoting the self-supply willingness of rural public goods, and the social capital under different dimensions also has a different degree of influence on farmers' participating willingness.
