Research On The Farmer Special Cooperatives Participating In Accurate Poverty Alleviation

Farmers’ professional cooperatives have significant features of poverty alleviation and have become the ideal carrier for targeted poverty alleviation as well as the most efficient economic organization for anti-poverty in rural areas.The 13 th Five-Year Plan of China’s National Economic and Social Development clearly stated that by 2020,the poverty-stricken rural population in China will achieve the goal of poverty alleviation,and all impoverished counties will be decapitated to solve the regional poverty.As a mutual aid economic organization jointly established by disadvantaged groups,farmers’ professional cooperatives expand their space for development by embedding in the village society,becoming an intermediary organization between the state and farmers,and their development is in line with the goal of targeted poverty alleviation.The analysis of the development of farmers’ professional cooperatives in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and the progress of targeted poverty alleviation will not only provide practical guidance for improving the participation of cooperatives in targeted poverty alleviation in Enshi Prefecture,but also provide reference for the involvement of farmers’ professional cooperatives in targeted poverty alleviation in other regions.This paper comprehensively applies multi-disciplinary theories and methods such as economics,sociology,management,as well as anthropology,and selects Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture as typical cases.Based on the analysis of the specific effects of farmers’ professional cooperatives in targeted poverty alleviation,it concludes that cooperatives are making remarkable achievements in such issues as the increasing income of poor rural households,the realization of targeted poverty alleviation goals,the accelerating pace of targeted poverty alleviation,and the spiritual effects on boosting farmers out of poverty.This paper discusses the difficulties of the farmers’ professional cooperatives to participate in the process of targeted poverty alleviation,including their limited capabilities to serve the poor members and to benefit the poor and disadvantaged members.Besides,this paper also makes proposals and countermeasures for the participation of farmer professional cooperatives in targeted poverty alleviation from multiple levels.
