Research On The Post-custodial Mode Of The Australian National Archives

With the influence of the proliferation of electronic records and the trend of postmodernism,a new archives management mode—the post-custodial mode was appeared.The post-custodial mode is different from the traditional archival custodial mode in the past.Its core is that the electronic records are kept by its created organization without being transferred to the archives,the archives be came a supervision center.At the beginning of the post-custodial mode formed,it was just a change of mind.However,the National Archives of Australia first tried to explore the post-custodial mode in practice.It accepted the idea of post-custodial and formulated a post-custodial policy and announced its implementation.In the past two decades of research on archives management,Australia archivists has been actively exploring and continuously updating the archives management mode,providing extensive advice for the long-term preservation of electronic records.Therefore,the author selects the National Archives of Australia as the research object,and selects the National Archives of Australia's post-custodial mode as the main research content.The goal is to explore the core characteristics and development process of the Australia post-custodial mode.Thereby analyzes the essence of the Australia post-custodial mode,and serves the suggestions for the State Archives Bureau of the People's Republic of China.This research uses in-depth interviews method and qualitative research method.Based on the research,the author selected 12 interviewees in China and abroad,which are the famous experts in the field of archives.The author designs the different interview outlines based on different interviewees,and make adjustments as appropriate.After the interview is completed,a qualitative text analysis is conducted on the interview results.The analysis summarizes the interviewees' background,implementation and evolution of the post-custodial mode of the Australian National Archives And evaluation.On this basis,the author of the Australian National Archives after the formation of the custody mode(including the formation background,specific content,implementation)and the subsequent development and evolution of the process of a systematic theoretical exposition.Thus dialectically evaluate the post-custodial mode of the Australian National Archives.As a result,it led to the revelation of China's electronic records management and provided a series of reference suggestions for the long term preservation of electronic records in China.
