The information age has come.The main contradiction between people and information has changed from how to obtain information to how to deal with information.On the one hand,information explosion produces a lot of information;on the other hand,access to information has increased dramatically,with massive information becoming everyone's normal.The competitiveness between people is no longer reflected in the ability to obtain information,but the ability to identify information.With the ability to identify accurate and valuable information from massive information,we have the competitiveness of the information age.Since the middle of the 19 th century,the mature information chart has provided a solution for the last information explosion era through visual processing of complex information.It has played an important role in the " era reading picture " where the efficiency of picture communication is better than that of text.However,in the information age,the static visualization method limits the display of information value and reduces the readability and timeliness of information.Compared with the amount of information to be processed,the current visual communication mode limits the "bandwidth" of information transmission,and the bottleneck of visual communication in form and technology needs to be broken.Fortunately,the rapid development of science and technology and the constantly updated cognitive framework are opening up a new vision for human beings.The combination of science and technology and art has produced a new form of information visualization.Information is displayed through dynamic or comprehensive media forms,and the carriers receiving information break through the limitations of plane forms.The hottest emerging digital media forms such as virtual reality,augmented reality,holographic vision and so on are rapidly combined with the visual communication of information,bringing more real information perception and complete "immersion" information experience.The purpose of this paper is to clarify the applicable principles and methods of various forms of digital media,different types of information visualization and the combination of communication demands.Through classification and induction,the core characteristics of digital media and information visualization are summarized,the advantages of combination are analyzed,and the positive significance and applicable laws of digital media to solve the bottleneck of information visualization are found out.
