Modern medical testing is featured by time-consuming,expensive equipment, overly concentrated medical resources, and the vast majority of the resources are centered on the laboratory in particular. Therefore, the way to resolve the series of problems has been widely concerned by scientific researchers. The point-of-care test(POCT)represents the most promising direction to solve those problems at present.Due to the popularity of smartphones,it has become a major trend in the field of POCT by adding various accessories and different sensors integrated with the mobile phone itself to make it a portable detection device.Based on smartphone,POCT has the advantages of low cost, easy promotion, short time consumption and simple operation. Therefore, this paper proposes a set of portable colorimetric sensory detection system based on smartphone, which uses the colloidal gold functionalized with alpha-fetoprotein antibodies to detect alpha-fetoprotein,an early cancer marker.First of all,in order to solve the problem of external light interference that is crucial in colorimetric detection,a hardware platform for shielding the external ambient light and providing uniform and bright light was designed and implemented. This hardware is designed via Solidworks, using a white polymethyl methacrylate material to be processed by a laser cutting machine, and processed with accessories such as LED lamp boards, power supplies, diffuse reflection boards and the like. The entire hardware platform is low cost and easy to process. All experimental samples are placed inside the hardware platform. The hardware platform uniformly provides uniform illumination, which effectively solves the problem of ambient light interference. Then,a software developed through the Android Studio integrated development environment was used to detect and calculate experimental data.In order to complete the software development efficiently and reasonably, first analyze the user needs and design the software use process, and then divide the software into 5 relatively independent sub-modules according to the requirements and processes, namely:information filling module, image acquisition module, data analysis and Display module, data storage module and system setting module.During the development process, the image algorithms and data fitting algorithms used by the software were explained in detail. This software can complete functions such as filling in experimental information, capturing and saving experimental images, calculating image data, fitting and displaying equations, and saving experimental data. Finally, debug hardware and software functions.Hardware debugging includes uniformity of light, closedness of the hardware platform, and reasonable light distance.Software testing includes interface testing and functional testing. The interface guarantees a uniform style,no spelling errors, and clear images.Functionally,it is necessary to ensure that the calculation data is correct, and each module can function normally.Based on the above, the innovation of this paper is that the author proposes a set of portable detection systems based on smartphone to detect early cancer marker(alpha-fetoprotein)according to the POCT concept, combined with the current development of smartphones, aiming to solve the problems encountered in modern medical testing.Featured by less time consumption, good portability, low cost and simple operation, the system can be tested to a certain extent outside the laboratory and used in those areas with limited medical conditions. Moreover, the test results can be displayed directly on the mobile phone. The actual sample test shows that the accuracy and sensitivity of the entire system have reached the expected goals.
