"Changshu Daily" Cultural Report Analysis (2013-2018)

Inheriting social culture is one of the basic functions of the mass media.Local mainstream media do a good job in local cultural reporting,which is a concrete manifestation of inheriting characteristic culture,promoting spiritual civilization construction,and fulfilling the social responsibility of mass media.At the same time,digging deep into local cultural resources and doing cultural reports are also the need for newspapers to shape unique cultural characters and enhance competitiveness.This article focuses on the cultural reports of Changshu Daily,and uses it as a typical example to conduct in-depth analysis and interpretation.In 2013,Changshu Municipal Govermment issued the "Changshu Historical and Cultural City Protection Plan(2013-2030),and the "Changshu City Cultural Industry Development Three-Year Improvement Plan(2013-2015)".Changshu Daily closely follows the work of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government Center.Since the beginning of this year,the number,scale,and innovative methods of cultural reports have been significantly increased.The paper analyzes the newspaper cultural reports from 2013 to 2018 and discusses the interrelationship between local media and local culture and proposes the strategies for the dissemination of regional culture.In the introduction part,the paper mainly clarifies the background and significance of this research,sorts out the existing related research,and introduces the ideas and methods of the research.The main part combs the construction and dissemination of Changshu local culture from Changshu Daily from 2013 to 2018,and summarizes the way newspapers present local culture.At the same time,it analyzes the content of Changshu Daily,s cultural report and summarizes its characteristics.Based on this,the paper also deeply explores the problems that local mainstream newspapers have with the local cultural reports,and proposes practical countermeasures and suggestions.The conclusion part summarizes the basic viewpoints of the paper,and gives an outlook on their future development.The research in this paper believes that Changshu Daily has its own uniqueness in the selection and production of local cultural reports,focusing on the setting of major events through serialized and thematic reports.In-depth reports about culture can dig deep into local cultural resources,provide a comprehensive perspective for the audience,and guide the direction of public opinion.However,there are still some shortcomings in Changshu Daily's reports of local culture,including being not rich in variety and not enough in depth of news reports;not stable in editions and not powerful in brand-building of culture reports;not loyal in readers and not wide in circulation of new media;not high in value and not deep in digging of supplements and,etc.To tackle these problems,the author puts forward some countermeasures,such as digging cultural resources deeper;building the character of local newspapers;highlighting the elements of news;enhancing the sense of the times of cultural reports;strengthening the brand of columns;creating new cultural themes;launching popular new media;improving the promotion of local culture;opening more supplements based on local characteristics,etc.
