Popular science book publishing industry is flourishing day by day.As a branch of book category,its significance is very important to human civilization.However,at present,the publication of popular science books in China is confronted with a series of problems,such as repeated topic selection,serious plagiarism,relatively backward creation ideas and techniques,and lack of popular science authors."A brief history of space breeding"published by shaanxi science and technology press in 2016 won the 2016"China good book"award for science and technology by virtue of its unique perspective of topic selection,high-quality book content,precise marketing strategy and other characteristics,achieving double harvest of economic benefits and social benefits.It is a rare domestic popular science masterpiece in recent years.This paper takes the book publishing strategy as the basic framework,integrates and classifies the whole process of publishing,and combines information collection,topic selection planning and book topic selection planning.Organizing,reviewing and editing the manuscripts into book content editing;The overall design and production combined with the book binding design;Product circulation separately listed as book marketing.This paper makes a detailed analysis and research on the series of"a brief history of aerospace breeding"from the above four parts,and extracts the success of the book in the process of creation and editing by using the methods of literature analysis,case analysis and interview,combined with the knowledge of publishing,communication,marketing and other relevant disciplines.Starting from the practical and micro perspectives of editing and publishing,this paper aims to reflect on the problems in shaanxi province and provide useful experience and ideas for editors and authors engaged in the publication of popular science books.That is to say,in the link of topic selection and planning,the publishing house should combine the ad'vantages of local science and technology resources,closely follow the national policy-oriented planning and topic selection,at the same time,according to the content of the topic selected for deep processing,to adapt to the current publishing trend to create diversified book IP;In the link of book content editing,the publishing house should actively discover and cultivate a group of highly professional and highly literate popular science writers,constantly innovate,not being conventional,and organically integrate the scientific nature and literariness of popular science works.Meanwhile,new media technology can be used to enrich the forms of scientific expression.In the link of binding design,planning editor,responsible editor should strengthen communication with art editor,full participation in the book binding design process,design a novel and eye-catching"god shape"unified book cover,and pay attention to the text layout,illustration design,font size,paper selection and other symbol expression skills;In the aspect of publicity and marketing,the publishing house can make good use of celebrity effect,make use of the influence of celebrities to expand the popularity of books,get familiar with the new media marketing model,seize the position of e-commerce and network community,strengthen the network publicity,take the initiative to plan offline activities,strengthen the connection with readers,and establish friendly relations.Finally,combining with the new format of the current book publishing industry,this paper puts forward constructive Suggestions on the future popular science books from different aspects of publishing,hoping that the popular science books in China can continuously create brilliant.
