Research On The “Belt And Road” Report Of The Mainstream Newspapers In Saudi Arabia

Today,the tide of globalization is developing rapidly,the international situation is complex and changeable,the development of politics,economy and culture among countries has been deeply influenced,and the traditional cooperative development mode can no longer meet the development needs of all countries in the world,under this situation,China put torward the"Belt and Road"initiative,which aims to cooperate peacefully and win-win with the rest of the world and get positive response from the countries along the route and the international community.As an indispensable and important country in the"Belt and Road" initiative,Saudi Arabia has made steady progress in its cooperation and development in various fields,and the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership is the general trend of the times.In the global information age,as the main way for people to access news information,the impact of news media coverage on the country,people's attitude and cognition is extremely important.The media coverage of the"Belt and Road," initiative in Saudi Arabia will greatly affect the evaluation and cognition of the Saudi people and even the rest of the world on China's"Belt and Roadt"initiative.It will also directly affect the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in Saudi Arabia and further affect the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.Therefore,in order to promote the implementation of the"Belt and Road"initiative and promote the development of friendly relations between China and Saudi Arabia,this article selects Saudi Arabia's News,Saudi Arabia's Middle East Daily,and the Saudi Gazette as the subjects of study.During the period from September 2013 to September 2018,the relevant reports of the"Belt and Road" Initiative were taken as research samples,and the media framework analysis method was used to analyze the amount of reports through the qualitative and quantitative studies of the reporting texts,Reporting topics,the distribution of reporting samples,and the types,characteristics and causes of the reporting framework,the three mainstream representative newspapers are obtained."Belt and Road"advocates the attitude towards the conclusion."The results are summarized as follows:in terms of newspaper volume,the number of reports of the three mainstream newspapers gradually increases with the continuous advancement of the"Belt and Road"initiative,which reflects the importance and concern of the Saudi state and newspapers to the"Belt and Road" initiative of our country.In the aspect of sample distribution,this paper divides the reporting sample into three periods:neutral period,recognition period,and the transition of news subject from China and Saudi Arabia to China and abroad during the period of participation.It is pointed out that the"Belt and Road"initiative has also received extensive attention in other countries,reflecting the international influence of the"Belt and Road"initiative in China from the side,and it can be seen from the reports with other countries that the neuwspaper reports are more objective and fair.In terms of'the reporting framework,the three newspapers each used four frameworks for reporting,cooperation framework,competition framework,threat framework,and friendly framework,and even if there were competition and threat frameworks,the cooperation framework accounted for the highest proportion.It shows that the three mainstream newspapers all have a cooperative attitude towards the"Belt and Road"initiative,and the competitive attitude is the Saudi Bulletin,the Saudi Middle East Daily is relatively friendly,and the reporting framework of these three newspapers may be influenced by the factors of national interest.National security factors,historical and cultural differences and journalism professional concept of these four aspects of the impact.The thesis consists of five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction part.In the introduction part,the background and significance of the research are introduced,the existing research status is discussed and sorted out,and the research object,the selection of the research time period and the research methods of this paper are put forward.At the same time,the paper puts forward the innovation and difficulty of the research.The second chapter is a sample analysis of the reports of"Belt and Road",a mainstream newspaper in Saudi Arabia,which mainly analyzes the"Belt and Road"news reports of the three representative newspapers,mainly from the amount of coverage.Reporting topics and reporting sample distribution of these three aspects of the analysis.The third chapter is the analysis of the media framework of the mainstream Saudi Arabian newspaper"Belt and Road".This chapter mainly analyzes and summarizes the media framework of the coverage sample on the basis of the analysis of the second chapter,including the cooperation framework and the competition framework.Friendly framework and threat framework these four kinds.The fourth chapter is the analysis of the causes of the media framework,this chapter is mainly on the basis of the analysis and summary of the media framework in the third chapter,trying to analyze and summarize the main reasons for the formation of the media framework.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,respectively from six kinds of issues,three periods,four kinds of frame these three aspects to carry on the summary.
