| This article is based on Taiwanese scholar Zang Guoren's theory of high-,medium-,and low-level three-level structure of the frame, mainly uses the frame analysis method to explore the reporting framework of the news about “Belt and Road” initiative in the le Figaro from January 2017 to December 2019.It further presents the media image of the initiative, and analyzes the factors affecting the image construction from different angles, proposes corresponding countermeasures for the initiative to spread to France, and promote the development of China's external communication cause.Through research,it is found that the number of initiative's reports in the le Figaro fluctuates with major events, rich use of forms and mainly graphic reports,short-message reports are mostly used.High-level thematic frameworks use emotionally single headlines, covering a wide range of topics, most of which are overseas investment and construction, trade cooperation, and attitudes of various countries to initiatives;the middle-level structural framework is based on the main events and assessment reports are the main ones;the low-level discourse framework refers to diverse sources of information mainly dominated by foreign governments, and the subjective color of discourse construction is obvious, showing a tendency of mostly negative reports. The author summarizes the media image of the initiative in the le Figaro, which showing concern and look forward to co-exist,and shapes it as an “internal strategy” to pass the crisis,a “debt diplomacy project” in search of hegemony, and an expansion of European China's export channels. It also analyzes the influencing factors from the perspective of French media interests, cultural differences, and political systems. When the “Belt and Road” initiative spreads to France in the future,we should focus on constructing topic of common sense, deepening cooperation between China and France, and transforming the discourse system of dissemination, and telling the story of the “Belt and Road”. |
