In recent years,reality TV show appeared the serious condition of homogeneity in China,and as an entirely new form,sports reality TV show appeared in people's vision.In 2016,driven by the international competition and national policy,sports reality TV show explosively reached many TV screens.Through rough statistics,the amount of the sports reality TV show was nearly 20 in 2016,but most of the programs' audience rating was unsatisfactory.Beat The Champions was produced by Zhejiang Satellite TV.In such situation,Beat The Champions got through the close siege,whose average audience rating reached 1.39%.In the two seasons,the highest audience rating was achieved as high as 1.904%.As a relatively small variety show,it even surpassed Go Fighting in the same period.Therefore,Beat The Champions can definitely be regarded as the pioneer program of sports reality TV show and the high quality benchmark for domestic sports reality TV show.Under the guidance of communication theory,I will explore the characteristics of Beat The Champions in the communication process and provide referential opinions and suggestions for sports reality TV shows,so as to provide some references for the creation of similar programs and promote the prosperous development of sports reality shows.
