Research On The Evaluation System Of Academic Databases Based On User Satisfaction

In recent years,China's database industry has experienced rapid development,and has become one of the important foundations of China's scientific and technological and economic development.Especially the level of academic database industry has deeply affected the development of science and technology in a country.At present,there are many problems of academic databases in China:capacity of database is small,output value is low,phenomenon of product homogeneity is very serious;development speed of new products is slow,products can't keep up with the development of the market;market is saturated and the pace of opening up new markets is slow;characteristic databases are few,their qualities are low and scale is small,database products are far from meeting the requirements of users such as schools,scientific research institutes,enterprises and so on,as a result,the amount of visits and downloads of academic databases are low,and their influence is far inferior to that of foreign related products.The construction of academic databases in China has begun to change from "focusing on resource construction" to "focusing on user",at the same time,user satisfaction is getting more and more attention,and user satisfaction will become an important determinant of academic database development.So user satisfaction assessment of academic databases is particularly important.This paper will take the academic database as the main body of research,and take the user satisfaction as the research object.Based on the research results and related theories of the predecessors,combined with the characteristics of the academic database industry,the evaluation of the academic database based on user satisfaction is preliminarily established.The indicator system has six aspects:information content quality,system quality,interface usability,social image,cost and service,including 29 evaluation indicators.Then the analytic hierarchy process is used to determine the weight of each index element,and the effective combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis is basically realized,which makes the research of this paper more credible and reliable.Finally,this paper conducts a practical questionnaire survey on the chemical professional database of a scientific research institution,and then analyzes and processes the obtained data.According to the calculation formula of user satisfaction,the user's quality of information content,system quality and interface availability,social image,cost and service satisfaction and overall satisfaction are calculated which verified the feasibility of the method.Finally,based on the analysis results,some suggestions and countermeasures for improving user satisfaction are put forward.It is expected to provide a reference for strategy of the scientific research institution for improving and developing chemical database.
