Pulse compression and moving target detection(MTD)are the key technologies in modern radar signal processing systems and an effective method to obtain the target distance and velocity information.Most radar systems use a platform composed of FPGA and DSP,in which DSP can handle large amounts of data and meets the needs of high-speed signal processing.In this dissertation,combined with a radar project,pulse compression and MTD for a multi-beam radar based on TMS320C6678 DSP is designed and implemented.This dissertation first gives index requirements and designs the flow of the entire radar signal processing system.The emphasis is put on the basic principles of pulse compression and MTD algorithm.Wide and narrow pulse signals are chosen to meet the radar's ability to detect far and near targets.The MATLAB simulation of multi-beam radar signal processing is given.It provides the theoretical foundation for the realization of the project.Then,the overall design of the system is given.This paper studies the SRIO interface between DSP and FPGA and network port between DSP and host computer.Next,we design pulse compression and MTD scheme for a singel-beam based on single-core DSP and test the time of each module.According to the module time,we determine a solution to pulse compression and MTD for triple-beam signal based on 7-core:core 0 is responsible for sending and receiving data,and core 1?core 6 perform pulse compression and MTD of every channel.The pulse compression uses frequency-domain method which can handle signals with large time-bandwidth products.EDMA3 is used for data transmission and transpose without CPU intervention.The MTD is realized by FFT,which can be processed efficiently and can save a great amount of computation.The multicore-core communication,the multi-core optimization and space allocation are designed.After that,according to the project needs,we propose signal processing scheme based on two DSPs.Finally,the module of each signal processing is debugged based on multi-core DSP.Compared with the results of MATLAB simulation,the accuracy of the scheme is verified.The total time of signal processing is maintained at about 184ms,less than a coherent time 204.8ms.So it meets the system's real-time requirements.
