The city provides us with the conditions that we must eat,wear,live and go in all aspects of life.We will be unable to walk away from the city.The essence of urban communication is the spread of urban culture.The attraction of cities to people stems from the charm of urban culture.The process of urbanization is accelerating,and the city's influence on people's daily life is becoming more and more important.The communication of city culture has become an increasingly important problem.However,in the periodicals of our country,there is still a lack of a real professional journal or magazine about the city,and the lack of real city reports,which is with the current urban development.The status quo is extremely incompatible with people's desire to understand the connotation of the city.In 1996,"New Weekly" was born in the soil and context of urban culture as a city magazine.Since its creation,"New Weekly" has paid close attention to all aspects of urban life.The city has been taken in the form of City theme before 2001,which has aroused widespread concern in the society.The "City" is fixed as a column in the "New Weekly" in 2001.The "City" column is based on the topic of the city and involves extensive and rich content.It involves the people,traffic,space,architecture,culture,life style,city character and so on in urban life.In fact,this process is also a process of constructing and disseminate the city culture.Therefore,we want to study the significance of the construction and dissemination of the Weekly magazine to the City culture,from the "New Weekly" "City" column for nearly twenty years.According to thousands of articles,it is undoubtedly the best sample.This article analyses the 346 columns of 169 periods from 2010 to 2017 of the"City" column of "New Weekly".Through the method of text analysis,The 346 articles are classified according to the standards of reporting objects,and finds that it mainly constructs and propagate urban culture from five dimensions,namely,human dimension,urban space dimension,and urban cultural spirit dimension.The dimensions of urban malpractice and the five dimensions of the ideal city are constructed.By discussing the contents of these five dimensions,we find the significance of the "City"column of "New Weekly" "City" to the construction and dissemination of urban culture,and mainly form and disseminate urban culture from the four dimensions of constructing the concept of the city,showing the cultural value of the city,constructing the urban life style,and cultivating the critical consciousness of the audience.Then the author rethinks the "City" column of "New Weekly" and finds out some problems that exist.In the future,we should pay attention to the consistency of the overall view of the city,pay attention to the excessive elitism and idealism,be vigilant about the excessive commercial examination,and hope to be the city newspaper of the other Weekly.The road provides a reference.
