The rapid development of information society and the acceleration of globalization have brought opportunities and challenges to the whole world.As a kind of comprehensive thinking ability at a high cognitive level,higher-order thinking is becoming one of the necessary abilities to adapt to the future society.How to cultivate students’ advanced thinking ability in the current school environment is the focus of international education research,and also the necessary way to implement the core quality in China.However,SSI teaching is a kind of teaching based on the real situation of social science issues.It is one of the research hotspots of international science education to promote students’ in-depth learning in the context of dilemma problems with both advantages and disadvantages.On the basis of analyzing the current situation of advanced thinking and SSI teaching and research at home and abroad,it is found that SSI teaching and advanced thinking are correlated and consistent,that is,SSI teaching can cultivate students’ advanced thinking ability and improve their scientific literacy and civic awareness.In the 2017 high school chemistry curriculum standards,the core accomplishment of chemistry includes the dimension of "scientific spirit and social responsibility",and it is an inevitable concern for teachers to introduce social science issues into chemistry classroom teaching.In this study,SSI teaching is introduced into high school chemistry curriculum,aiming at cultivating students’ advanced thinking ability.Research from the following several aspects,the first at home and abroad is analyzed over the higher-order thinking and social science research,on how to train the higher-order thinking into the high school chemistry SSI teaching,from the construction,put forward the teaching mode and strategy,analysis and finishing the2017 version of the chemistry curriculum standard of SSI teaching curriculum content;Secondly,a concrete teaching case design was made for the improved teaching mode.Before practice,the questionnaire was used to investigate the high-level thinking of high school students in chemistry learning.It was found that students’ thinking initiative was not strong,their migration ability was poor,and their thinking function was fixed.Finally,the teaching practice is carried out to establish the analysis,evaluation and creation dimensions of the evaluation of advanced thinking,and the test questions of the evaluation of advanced thinking are designed to verify theeffectiveness of SSI teaching in cultivating students’ advanced thinking: students can transform the knowledge they have learned and their lives,and conduct in-depth thinking and evaluation of the knowledge they have learned.The research results show that after the implementation of SSI teaching,students’ higher-order thinking skills such as analysis,evaluation,and creativity have improved significantly.The consciousness of thinking about applications from multiple perspectives has been improved,which is reflected in the improvement of learning methods and the improvement of learning ability.
