The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to deepen the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and technology,the strategy of strengthening the country with talents and the strategy of innovation-driven development,realize the synchronous high-quality development of education,science and technology and innovation,and cultivate innovative talents.High-order thinking,as a kind of high level cognitive thinking ability,is one of the essential abilities for innovative talents.Based on high school chemistry teaching,how to cultivate high-order thinking in chemistry is an urgent problem to be solved in the current reform of chemistry education in our country.SSI teaching is a kind of teaching based on the context of social science issues,emphasizing the use of the knowledge learned to explore solutions to social science issues from multiple perspectives,thereby promoting the improvement of higher-order thinking.In this study,the method of document study,experiment study,questionnaire investigation and interview were used to investigate the training of high order thinking in chemistry in SSI teaching.Guided by Situational Cognition Theory,Dialogue Teaching Theory,Deep Learning Theory and the Latest Development Area Theory,according to the current status of SSI teaching and high-order thinking in chemistry,a teaching theory model is put forward to develop high order thinking by means of SSI.On the basis of the above,relevant teaching cases are designed and be applied to the teaching practice of senior middle school chemistry.Data-based statistical analysis and interview results after practice,the feasibility of SSI teaching to cultivate high-order thinking in chemistry was tested.The practical research results indicate that SSI can be used in senior middle school chemistry classes to cultivate the high order chemistry thinking ability of senior high school students.In particular,the improvement of questioning critical thinking and model construction thinking is particularly significant.
