The principal is a school's spokesperson.The personal qualities of the principal,school development decision-making,and management organization coordination are all key factors in school development.There is a significant difference in leadership between the first and senior principals.A comparative study with senior principal leadership,exploring the path and characteristics of principal leadership growth,is conducive to improving the professional development level of primary and secondary school principals,continuously improving the ability of school management,and improving the effectiveness of school management.This paper takes the principals of compulsory education schools(primary and junior high schools)in a county in L city as the research object,and uses the principal leadership table of Professor Zheng Yanxiang as the basis to comprehensively apply research methods such as questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews to primary and secondary schools in a county in L city.Investigate and analyze the leadership status of principals.Research shows that no matter whether it is a new principal or a senior principal,the general leadership level and various leadership dimensions can maintain a high level,indicating that the leadership level of the principal is constantly improving.However,there are still many problems:teachers of different ages,teaching ages,and professional titles have different perceptions of the leadership of the first and senior principals;there are also differences between the leadership of the first and senior principals in different school categories;and the structural leadership and innovation of the first principal Leadership is more prominent than senior principals;teaching leadership and cultural leadership of senior principals are more prominent;and communication leadership is more prominent than the first principal and senior principal.Through interviews,it is known that there are many reasons for the obvious leadership differences between the first and senior principals.The root cause is the internal and external systems and the principal's own factors.According to the problems found in the investigation and the analysis of the reasons,suggestions and countermeasures for improving the leadership of the first and senior principals are put forward.Firstly,the principal should pay attention to the communication inside and outside the school.secondly is to strengthen the effectiveness of the training of principals.The first and senior principals have different emphasis on the learning of professional knowledge.And thirdly is to improve the principal management system to promote the leadership of the first and senior principals.
