Local University President Academic Leadership Research

Leadership research,which was rooted in corporate management,has increasingly become a heated issue in education research.As the highest administrator and legal representative of a university,university presidents,whose governance practice has become core element of university reform and develop.In recent years,with the expansion of higher education and the increasingly fierce competition among universities,research on university presidents’ leadership has also become the focus of academic circles.This research is based on leadership theory,organizational culture and organizational behavior theory.It analyzes the connotation and characteristics of university presidents’ leadership,builds the constituent elements of university presidents’ leadership.What`s more,this paper takes H University as a case to analyze the constituent elements of the university’s academic leadership and the impact on the school’s work.This research analyses from the aspects of the concept of school administration,personnel training,scientific research,and the construction of teachers.Through the in-depth excavation of H University,this study draws the following basic conclusions.The development of academic leadership,which local university presidents have,requires a correct education concept,strengthen the study of problems in the process of running a university,and make good use of Administrative power in the course of governance practice.The study also found that there are still some problems in the academic leaders’ leadership of local colleges and universities,and then give advices on how to improve the academic leadership of university president.
