The classical Chinese represents the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese nation,which is an important part of Chinese excellent traditional culture.Classical Chinese teaching is also an indispensable part of Chinese teaching.The mainland and Taiwan share a common language and cultural background.In addition,they also enjoy great similarities in the selection of teaching materials.This paper aims to provide better research directions and research ideas for the development of Chinese textbooks through the comparison of the classical Chinese textbooks of Ministry of Education edition and Taiwan's Kang Shuan edition.In the paper,the classical Chinese textbook selection issued by Ministry of Education for Compulsory Education and Chinese Language for the junior high school issued by Kang Shuan Culture and Education Publishing House have been compared and analyzed.The literature analysis method,comparative analysis method,statistical analysis method and other research method have been adopted to make comparisons from the perspectives of the programmatic document of classical Chinese textbooks Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standards 2011 Edition,National Primary and Secondary Schools Nine-Year Consistent Curriculum Outline(Language Learning Area),the selection of classical Chinese texts,the help-reading system and exercise system.Through the comparison,it hopes that the two editions textbooks can learn from and complement on each other to promote the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture.The first part is the introduction.It introduces the research selected topic reason and carries out a systematic study of the researches on Chinese textbooks,curriculum documents and classical Chinese teaching by scholars from the Mainland,Taiwan and Hong Kong.In addition,it also determines the research object and research method of the paper and defined some fuzzy concepts.The second part compares and analysis the study requirements of the classical Chinese in Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standards 2011 Edition in the mainland and National Primary and Secondary Schools Nine-Year Consistent Curriculum Outline(Language Learning Area)in Taiwan.According to the comparison of the documents issued by the mainland and Taiwan,it can define the direction of the two sets of textbooks and provide a theoretical basis.The third part mainly analysis the selections of classical Chinese textbook in Taiwan and the mainland.The similarities and differences in the selection of classical Chinese textbooks between the mainland and Taiwan are systematically analyzed from four aspects of the number and proportion,the value orientation,the genre,and the same articles and the same authors of classical Chinese texts.The results show that quantity and proportion distribution of classical Chinese texts issued by Ministry of Education is irregular,while the quantity and proportion distribution of the Kang Shuan edition textbooks is regular.However,The classical Chinese textbook selection both in Taiwan and the mainland focus on personal value orientation,and the genres of the articles tend to be the argumentative essays and miscellaneous essays.The fourth chapter analysis the help-reading system and exercise system of the classical Chinese textbook selection,and summarizes the components and features of the two editions help-reading system and exercise system.Besides,the same articles issued by the two editions textbooks are compared and analyzed.The study found that help-reading systems of the classical Chinese textbooks in the two editions are quietly different.The Ministry of Education edition can enrich the help-reading system by referring to Kang Shuan edition textbook.Besides,the exercise systems of the two editions are also different.The Ministry of Education edition pays attention to the memorization of the classical Chinese and the question types are single,while the Kang Shuan edition focuses on the grammar of the classical Chinese and the question types are various.The fifth part analysis the merit and demerit of the two editions based on the learning requirements,selections,help-reading system and exercise system of the tclassical Chinese textbooks,and puts some suggestions for the selection of classical Chinese texts in Taiwan and the mainland.Firstly,the curriculum standards should be improved and the practical operability of the curriculum standards should be enhanced.Secondly,the classical Chinese articles should be carefully selected and take into account of various contents.Finally,the guidance system should be perfected,which should concentrate on content presentation.Besides,the exercise should be designed scientifically to improve the comprehensive ability of students.
