This study is devoted to exploring the application of group work methods in improving the interpersonal skills of left-behind children in rural-to-urban communities.By means of scale evaluation and in-depth interviews,the author makes an analysis of the three dimensions of interpersonal communication cognition,emotion and behavior of left-behind children in S community of Xiangyang City.The author believes that left-behind children in rural-to-urban communities need to improve their self-awareness,bad mood and interpersonal communication ability.For this reason,the author set up the S community left-behind children’s interpersonal communication ability promotion group,based on the pre-demand prediction,under the guidance of social learning theory and the dominant perspective theory,set the corresponding group goals and activities.The S community left-behind children’s interpersonal skills improvement group includes eight group activities.The corresponding themes of the eight activities are:meeting may not have been acquainted(ice-breaking journey),"natural talents must be useful"(to enhance self-confidence),"I am the master of my emotions"(emotional management),"communication skills I learn"(to learn communication),"civilized etiquette is very important"(civilized courtesy),"sailing together"(solidarity and cooperation),"interpersonal communication I make up".Long(learn to praise),"Long wind breaks waves sometimes"(end group).The author tries to help the team members improve their interpersonal skills through the above eight targeted group activities and interaction process.After the implementation of the activities,the author concludes that the practical methods of group work can effectively improve the interpersonal skills of left-behind children in rural-to-community through the evaluation and summary of the group.
