Textbooks,as the most basic and important part of textbooks,are the important carriers of curriculum content,occupy an important position and role in teaching,and have always been highly valued by educators in various countries.In China's education system,textbooks are irreplaceable,especially important.As the saying goes,the stone of other mountains can attack the jade.By studying foreign textbooks,we can get a more intuitive and in-depth understanding of other countries' educational concepts and methods,and gain useful experience from them,which is of great benefit to the compilation of textbooks in our country and even to the development of history education in middle schools.As far as history is concerned,China has a long history.From this point of view,Britain also has a long history.Moreover,the reform of history education in secondary schools in Britain has been pushed forward for decades,and has achieved remarkable results.It has accumulated a lot of experience,including the compilation and research of history textbooks.Based on the British junior middle school history textbook History Progress and the revised national curriculum standards of History in 2007,this paper analyses the structure and content system of History Progress,and then explores the characteristics of History Progress textbook.Finally,it compares with Chinese junior middle school history textbook to find out its reference and noteworthy points.The first part gives a brief introduction to the school system,curriculum and textbook system in Britain.On this basis,it focuses on the interpretation and analysis of the revised national curriculum standards of history in 2007,and understands the guiding ideology of the compilation of the textbook "Progress of History".The second part briefly introduces the structure of the textbook "Progress of History",and further analyses its structural characteristics through the setting of the catalogue,introduction,keywords and so on.The third part first briefly introduces the content system and characteristics of the textbook "Progress of History",and through the description of the major historical events such as the Second World War and the genocide,as well as the important historical figures such as King John and Martin Luther King,analyses its characteristics,explores the implementation of the curriculum standards in the textbook,and understands its historical outlook.In the fourth part,starting from the characteristics of the structure and content system of the textbook History Progress,the author explores the strengths and weaknesses of its compilation,and puts forward some suggestions and Reflections Based on the Compilation Characteristics of the current history textbook in China.
