"Space and figure" instead of "graphics and geometric" from "Mathematics curri culum standards(2011 edition)",increases geometric intuitive ability as one of the tenmathematics curriculum core ideas.The increase of the core concept geometric intuitiv e ability shows that the state attaches great importance to the cultivation of mathemati cal geometric intuitive ability.Primary school stage is an important period to the cultiv ation of pupils' geometric intuitive ability,and it will also affect the students' future ma thematics learning,especially to the students in the high grade primary school who are from the concrete operation stage to the formal operation stage.Based on the analysis of the importance of the geometric intuitive ability and actual investigation,the research of the mathematical geometric intuitive ability of the high grade primary school students is proved to be feasible and valuable.In this paper,students'(high school stage)mathematical geometric intuitive ability was tested by examination papers designed in advance.In addition,through student questionnaire and teacher interviews to discover the current cognitive situation of the mathematical geometric intuitive ability of teachers and students.The conclusions of the study are as follows:Firstly,in the overall analysis of students 'geometric intuitive assessment results,the overall level of students' geometric intuitive status should be improved.Secondly,In relation to the relevance of students level of geometric visualization in mathematics,students' level of visualization is significantly related to their mathematical achievements,of which the third level(reasoning and problem solving)score is more relevant to the mathematical achievements.Thirdly,there is no significant difference in the level of three levels of cognition between male and female students.There are significant grade differences in the level of students 'mathematical geometric intuitive ability.The students' geometric intuitive ability is better than the students'.Finally,in terms of student questionnaire and teacher interview outline,the senior students of the school do not know enough about geometric intuition,but they have certain ability of geometric intuition;Teachers have a simple understanding of geometric intuition,can fully realize the importance of geometric intuition.According to the research conclusions,some suggestions for mathematical teaching were proposed:the first was that school should provide more opportunities for teachers and fell the role of geometric intuitive;the second was that teachers should strengthen the consciousness of modeling and improve the quality of modeling,the last was that classroom teaching should train and improve the ability of mathematical geometric intuitive of students.
