The mathematics curriculum standard of compulsory education(version 2011)modifies the "space and graphics" of the four major fields of knowledge into "graphics and geometry",and classifies geometry intuitively as one of the core concepts,which should arouse the attention of teachers and students.The senior primary school students are in the period of transferring from concrete operation to formal operation,which is an important period for the formation of geometric intuitive ability.However,students ' geometric intuitive ability is not adequate now and needs to be further improved.Taking the behavior performance of primary school students ' geometric intuitive ability as an index to compiles the ability test volume,this paper aims to test their ability level from three dimensions,including forming the knowledge of graph,the ability of describing and analyzing problems by using graph.The main conclusion is that the overall senior primary school students' geometric intuitive ability needs to be improved.Their performance of graphical analysis is the worst,and the gender difference of geometric intuitive ability hasn't been found.There is a significant difference between fifth grade and sixth grade in geometric intuitive ability and the sixth grade is better.Teachers are the designers and implementer of teaching activities,and they are the main factors that influence students ' geometric intuitive ability.After interviewing with them,it is found that the limitation of students ' geometric intuitive ability is due to teachers don't have deep theoretical study on geometric intuitive and ignore the cultivation of students ' geometric intuitive ability;the evaluation system of students ' geometric intuitive ability is not optimal;teaching methods are single and teachers pay little attention to the accumulation of students ' experience in geometric activities.In view of the above situation and problems,this paper puts forward the following countermeasures to improve students ' geometric intuitive ability: carefully study the curriculum standard,deepen the understanding of geometric intuitive training goal,excavate teaching resources,enrich the teaching content of cultivating geometric intuitive ability,use various teaching methods to cultivate students ' geometric intuitive ability,improve geometric intuitive academic evaluation,pay attention to students ' core accomplishment.
