Wechat has become an important socializing tool in people’s life ever since its inception.The group function is an important socializing platform of Wechat where people’s traditional social relations extend and develop through communications and interactions.Wechat Parents Groups at Elementary Schools(WPGES)is a development against this backdrop.The paper is divided into six parts.Part 1 is the introduction.It deals with the background,significance and literature review of the research topic.Part 2 is the research plan.It explains the problem,outline and methodologies of the research.Part 3 is the investigation results.It analyzes data obtained from the questionnaires and interviews in different groups.Based on the data from the investigation results,part 4 examines and analyzes the social relations of teachers-parents,parents-teachers and parents-parents.Part 5 is the conclusion.Part 6 includes the appendix,literature and acknowledgements.WPGES consists of parents of a given class and a number of teachers headed by the class adviser.Thanks to the students,parents from different walks of life and the teachers are connected to become members of an organization.Teachers who are in charge of educating the students have become virtual WPGES censors,while parents,as a result of various circumstances and responsibilities,act as followers,opinion leaders,supervisors,publicists,those who seek help and those who stay solitary.WPGES facilitates more frequent social communications among teachers and parents,solidifying and strengthening real-life social relations between teachers and parents and greatly promotes communication and interaction between teachers and parents on the one hand,while on the other hand,such frequent exchanges make the real-life social relations between teachers and parents more complicated and changeable,as both the teachers and the parents have to spend more time and energy in the face of a series of new problems,creating a new burden in the construction of bilateral social relations.Nevertheless,most parents have benefited from new-type social relations through WPGES in a mutually helpful atmosphere.
