Study On The Vocabulary Of The Epitaph Of The Sui Dynasty

In recent years,with the continuous excavation of epitaphs,the research on epitaphs in the academic circle has also become increasingly perfect.However,scholars mostly focus on the research on epitaphs in the Han,Wei,Six Dynasties and Tang Dynasty,resulting in relatively weak research on epitaphs in the Sui Dynasty.As a special period in history,the Sui Dynasty is not only at a historical turning point connecting the preceding and the following,but also at an important stage of the transition from middle ancient Chinese to modern Chinese.The two together determine that the corpus of epitaphs in the Sui Dynasty has outstanding research value.Moreover,the Sui Dynasty was in a multi-ethnic era,and the life records of epitaphs of different ethnic groups and genera can reflect the social changes and customs at that time,which plays an important role in our study of epitaph vocabulary in the Sui Dynasty.Moreover,the epitaph of Sui Dynasty has complete data,rich corpus,definite times,authentic and reliable materials and high academic value,which is an important material for language dating research.Therefore,this article takes the epitaph vocabulary in the collection of epitaph inscriptions of Sui dynasty as the research object,and adopts the method of combining epitaph documents with documents handed down from ancient times,synchronic research and diachronic research,and combines the relevant knowledge of philology and lexicology to systematically and comprehensively sort out and interpret the vocabulary.The paper mainly consists of five partsThe first part is an introduction,which mainly elaborates the general situation of epitaphs,the research value of corpus of epitaphs in Sui Dynasty,the current research situation,research contents and research methods of epitaphs.The second part makes a correction of the improper interpretation and incorrect words in the Sui Dynasty Epitaph Collection.The third part is to classify the words in epitaphs of Sui Dynasty.The main choice of Sui Dynasty epitaph in the "age meaning vocabulary","heir meaning vocabulary" and " genealogical meaning vocabulary" as the research object,and put these three types of words into the corresponding semantic field for research.The forth part mainly introduces the supplement of the Sui Dynasty epitaph vocabulary to the Chinese dictionary in terms of words and examples.The fifth part summarized the value of the study on the vocabulary of epitaphs in Sui Dynasty and the deficiency in the research process.
