| The Soviet Union and Russia,as unique powers in the field of film art theory and practice,have made outstanding contributions to the development of world film,and have important influence and competitiveness in the international arena.The vivid national colors and strong national spirit have become the key topics for filming in the Soviet Union and Russia since the Second World War.Entering the Putin period,Russian officials continued the Soviet tradition and continued to support the Patriotic War movie as an important means to promote patriotism,gather national strength and shape the country’s image,which has become one of the important contents of contemporary Russian literary policies.This paper explores the internal relationship between the patriotic war films and the national image building of Russia.This paper mainly includes three chapters: the first chapter reviews the historical evolution of the development of the patriotic war films;The second chapter focuses on the strategy of shaping Russia’s national image,analyzes the policy background of films about the great patriotic war in Putin’s era,and explores the value orientation and supporting measures of the Russian government for films about the great patriotic war in Putin’s era by combining contemporary Russian literature and art policies,especially film policies.The third chapter takes three representative films such as The Brest Fortress,The Dawns Here Are Quiet and Stalingrad as examples to analyze the artistic practice of national image building in the patriotic war films of Putin period,focusing on the core themes,narrative strategies and artistic techniques.At last,the author evaluates the success and failure of the patriotic war films in the national image building during Putin’s period,and provides the experience and useful enlightenment for the creation and criticism of China’s war films. |
