The influence of Chinese around the whole world has greatly increased with the rapid development of Chinese economy.Now more and more foreign students are studying Chinese in China,and ready to be a Chinese teacher in the future.Under this circumstance,local teachers for Chinese teaching are in great need with a higher requirement for the teachers’ quality and degree.Therefore,in recent years,the cultivation of foreign masters majored in International Education of Chinese Language has been a hot topic.In this paper,foreign masters of this major from Minzu University of China are investigated with questionnaires and interviews to explore their learning demands as well as the satisfaction of these demands with proposal of corresponding countermeasures.The study mainly includes the following parts.The first chapter is an introduction to the research background and the research significance.Meanwhile,based on the analysis of other related researches,it determines the research ideas and methods in this paper.In the second chapter,it gives a brief introduction to the School of International Education in Minzu University of China with simple explanation on the major of International Education of Chinese Language.Then based on the training plan for foreign masters in International Education Major of Chinese Language,it makes some preparations for later study of learning demands by investigating cultivation goals,study duration and cultivation modes as well as curriculum setting and credit requirements.The third chapter is about the design and implementation of investigation.It first studies the overall design of questionnaires and interviews as well as the research direction and objective.Then conclusion is made correspondingly to the interview contents.The fourth chapter is an empirical study on interviewees’basic information,personal learning ability and individual learning desire by statistics and analysis of the questionnaire and interview,which further analyzes the learning demands of these students.In the fifth chapter,students’ learning demands and satisfaction of their demands by the school college in various aspects as well as existing problems are analyzed.For example,they can be offered high-quality teaching,well-received foundation courses and skill courses as well as practical training courses and so on;while the main problems focus on study duration,curriculum design,teaching contents,teaching methods and communication between teachers and students.In the sixth chapter,specific countermeasures are put forward addressing these problems.First,the existing educational system should be altered with more training classes to alleviate students’ burden.Second,courses involving traditional Chinese arts should be added to enrich students’ courses with more choices and more qualified teachers.Third,classes related to traditional Chinese culture should be added with more lectures and Chinese activities.Fourth,series courses about cutting-edge lectures on international Chinese and thesis writing should be adjusted accordingly.Fifth,difficulty of teaching contents should be lowered with update of teaching materials and resources.Sixth,teaching methods should be more practical and more interesting.Seventh,the relationship between students and teachers should be enhanced during internship and thesis writing.
