A Study Of Affixes Of Gansu Dingxi Dialect

Dingxi City is located in the south of central Gansu Province.Dingxi dialect belongs to the Longzhong and Qinlong dialects in the Central Plains Mandarin,and has a strong consistency in the use of affixes.On the basis of investigating the affix system of Dingxi Dialect in Anding District of Dingxi City,this paper explores the affix system of Dingxi Dialect.The affix system of Dingxi dialect is complete,with prefixes,suffixes and suffixes,and the number of suffixes is relatively large.The affix system of Dingxi dialect has rich functions and strong ability of word formation,including noun affixes,verb affixes,adjective affixes,adverbial affixes,pronoun affixes and quantifier affixes.Through extensive collection of corpus,this paper mainly makes a systematic and in-depth description and analysis of some common affixes in spoken English.This paper reflects the basic features of affixes in Dingxi dialect of Gansu Province,and summarizes their systematic usage,characteristics and rules,so as to provide a basis for further study of the dialects in this area.The main contents are divided into four parts:The first part is an overview of affixes.Firstly,by discussing the nature and classification of affixes,the method of defining affixes in Dingxi dialect is determined.Secondly,according to different classification methods,the different categories of affixes in Dingxi dialect are systematically investigated,and the characteristics of the usage of affixes in each category are summarized.The second part is the semantic function analysis of affixes in Dingxi dialect.This chapter attempts to examine the semantic features of the affixes "A(阿)","Lao(老)","Tou(头)","Er(儿)","Ge(个)","Song(怂)" and "Bu(不)" in Dingxi dialect as referential affixes or descriptive affixes from the perspective of semantic function.The referentiality of affixes in Dingxi dialect has such semantic attributes as appellation,animal and plant names,time and place,abuse and so on.The descriptive affixes are descriptive or evaluative,and describe the characteristics of word formation of each type of affixes.The third part is a case study of affixes in Dingxi dialect.This chapter will focus on describing and analyzing the characteristics of "Zi(子)","Er(儿)","Ga(尕)","Sui(岁)" affixes in word formation,and try to explore the differences between "Zi(子)","Er(儿)" suffixes and Putonghua,as well as the differences in the use of "Ga(尕)" and "Sui(岁)" suffixes in Dingxi dialect.The fourth part is the function of affixes in Dingxi dialect.On the basis of previous studies,this paper holds that Dingxi dialect has such functions as lining,word formation,conversion,variation and addition.In the affix of Dingxi dialect,these functions can coexist in the process of affix formation.
