Gansu Dingxi Prefecture Warring States Qin Great Wall Of Study

Warring States period is the most important time in Chinese Great Wall construction history. The Great Wall of King Zhaoxiang of Qin state keeps relatively good among the great walls of Warring States, especially in Dingxi areas, and the field work is also more meticulous.The Great Wall of King Zhaoxiang of Qin state not only is a simple military defensive project, but also referring to series of issues, such as the politics, economic development and ethnic relationship of Qin state and so on. It contains rich content and still has many problems need to be studied. Historians in successive dynasties think highly of it for its superior academic value.The Great Wall is a military defensive project with point, line and plane combination. We should not simple consider that the Great Wall only includes Walls,it also includes ancillary facilities, such as beacons, trenches,forts and so on. At the same time,the river valleies and the cliffs along the line of the Great Wall are also belong to the Great Wall.The route of the Great Wall of King Zhaoxiang of Qin state is an issue which historians concern all the time. According to research and field investigations, the Great Wall of King Zhaoxiang of Qin state in Dingxi areas from east to west successively passes Tongwei County,Longxi County,Weiyuan County and Lintao County.The construction ways of the Great Wall of King Zhaoxiang of Qin state are extremely distinctive,and the construction ways of the ancillary facilities such as beacons, trenches,forts and so on are also very special. It plays an important role in the Chinese Great Wall construction history because of its unique construction ways.In previous investigation, investigators maybe discovered short walls inside the Great Wall,but they did not take seriously. Twenty short walls in Dingxi areas have been found, and I have a preliminary understanding about this unique construction way.After reunification of Qin state,even early Han dynasty, rulers surely made use of the Great Wall of Warring States. The west starting point of the Great Wall of King Qin Shihuang of Qin state and the Great Wall of King Zhaoxiang of Qin state is consistent.In my opinion,the west starting point is in Min County,but this view still need further textual research.
