Explore The Use Of Symbolic Language In Klimt's Paintings

Gustav Klimt is a representative painter of “Vienna Secession”,a great Austrian painting artist in the late nineteenth century of Europe,whose painting has influenced the whole world.He succeeded in breaking traditional painting form,and combined tradition as well as modernity,exerting far-reaching influence both at that time and in modern times.His unique artistic language has opened a new door for painting art.He added decorative elements in his painting,which is a new way of thinking about the expressive form and artistic conception of oil painting.Although it was a “new art” one hundred years ago,it remains a splendid artistic form full of innovation in the contemporary era.Based on his most representative decorative symbolic language,this paper makes an in-depth analysis of his works,studying his painting forms,compositions and techniques,and exploring his unique artistic emotion as well as expression,which also offers a new idea and indicates a direction of my own artistic creation in the future,breaking my currently fixed way of painting.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,which briefly describes the purpose and significance of this research.The second part is to explore the formative factors of Klimt's artistic language.The third part systematically and detailedly discusses the application of artistic language according to the decorative patterns,compositions and colors in Klimt's works.The last part studies the influence and significance of Klimt's artistic language in the art domain at that time and in modern times,as well as on my own artistic creation.
