Gustav Klimt is an European painting master of Austria during from the late nineteenthcentury to the early of twentieth century.He never left Vienna during his lifetime, but hispaintings made a great influence to the european art world,even the art world around theworld. He used his rich decorative art language to perform his short life.Today we can onlyappreciate his great paintings for enjoying in his brilliant art work. he opened a new chapterwith his unique decorative and artistic conception of decorative painting. the gorgeous colorand unique abstract style is his favourite decorative language.This paper aims to study the performance of using the decorative language embodied inKlimt paintings. Primarily through in-depth analysis of Klimt ’s work, completed the study ofhis decorative language, including the composition, shape, color and process language.Making the form of painting, the use of symbols as well as the application of orientalelements and other features will be reflected.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, the main subjectof this study is to clarify the purpose, meaning, a clear research content and scope of thestudy;in the second part, the author will introduce the art character of decorative painting andfactor of forming by the brief introduction of the several characters and styles of decorativepainting. In the third part, the author will analyses the form, the features of the characteristicsof the character, symbols,and oriental elements by looking deep into the basic elements ofthese works. In the fourth of the paper, the author will explain the klimt’s using of decorativelanguage in detail by analyzing the composition, shape, colour and process language ofklimt’s work.In the last part, the impact of Klimt’s unique decorative language to modernpainting, design and self-painting reflects the real meaning of his decorative languageIn the rapid development of decorative painting today, this paper of deeply analyzing ofdecorative language of Klimt works is a powerful theoretical research supplement for klimtart theory, meanwhile which also provides a brand new perspective for the study ofdecorative arts. |
