Research On Chinese Character Teaching For Korean Adult Students

The teaching of Chinese characters is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Although there is much research on the teaching of Chinese Characters,there is less research on the teaching of Chinese characters for South Korean adult students who are in the cultural circle of Chinese characters.This paper takes South Korean adult students as the object of the teaching of Chinese characters.As we all know,the students of South Korean have a certain basic knowledge of Chinese characters,which brings some advantages to their Chinese characters learning,and which also brings some negative transfer to their Chinese characters learning at the same time.As a result,there will be some problems with their reading and writing.In this paper,the author designed a set of questionnaires for South Korean adult students,which is based on the previous studies of South Korean students' teaching of Chinese characters,and combined with the author's teaching experience.The questionnaire mainly includes two parts: teachers and students.Through analyzing of the questionnaire,this paper tries to find the problems of teachers in teaching Chinese characters and the problems of students in learning Chinese charactersIn view of the problems arising,this paper analyzes the reasons from four aspects of South Korean characters,students individual factors,teacher teaching,and textbook compilation.And the paper proposes the teaching strategies of Chinese characters for South Korean adult students from the aspects of reading,writing and culture of Chinese characters,in order to improve the interests of students in leaning Chinese characters.The teaching strategies of reading Chinese characters include the contrastive teaching of South Korean native characters and modern Chinese characters,the source of Chinese characters teaching,game teaching.The teaching strategies of writing Chinese characters include guiding students to establish the concept of strokes,attaching the importance of the role of dictation in the teaching of writing Chinese characters,and strengthening the contrast between South Korea and China;the teaching strategies of the culture of Chinese characters mainly include the strategies of culture of Chinese font,homophonic,pragmatic and context.Hoping the research on teaching the reading and writing of Chinese character separately can provide some new ideas for the Chinese characters teaching of South Korean adult students.
