Present Supplication Situation Of Chinese Characters On Mass Media And Its Teaching In South Korean

Chinese characters have made a profound impact on Korean history and culture since its spread into South Korea.The utilization of it has not been cut off in Korea after the establishment of 'HunMinJungUm'.However,the policy of 'Dedicated Korean'has impacted the development of Chinese characters and its teaching.With the rise of Chinese political economy,the exchanges between these two countries have become increasingly close,meanwhile,Chinese characters and its teaching have been paid more attention again.This paper would like to investigate the current South Korean's attitude toward Chinese characters,thus find the reason about its teaching and make some suggestions through the analysis of application situation of Chinese characters on mass media such as internet,newspaper and magazine.Firstly,in this paper,the application history of Chinese characters in Korea and the development of Chinese characters and its teaching are discussed.Secondly,it analyses the present supplication situation of Chinese characters on Korean mass media by statistics.Thirdly,questionnaire survey is used to understand the current application situation of Chinese characters by South Korean,the attitude and cognitive psychology of its teaching.Finally,the paper analyses the problems during Chinese characters teaching in South Korean and provide some suggestions for improvement.Nowadays,the status of Chinese characters is improving,and the teaching of which is also booming developed.This research could analyze the phenomenon and define its root,in the hope that it would improve people's understanding of Chinese characters and promote the spread of Chinese characters and its teaching.
