Objective: This study used a case-control study to observe the characteristics of patients with psoriasis vulgaris complicated with metabolic disorders and the distribution of TCM syndromes,to explore the risk factors of metabolic disorders in psoriasis vulgaris, and to study its correlation with adiponectin.Provide scientific basis for disease management and prevention and treatment of Chinese medicine. Methods: Questionnaires, physical examinations, and laboratory tests were performed on the cases and controls in a uniform manner using a 1:2 case-control study. The case group was from the psoriasis vulgaris patients who were admitted to the Department of Dermatology,Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2014 to December 2018.The control group was a healthy person in the same period. The questionnaire included demographic characteristics, past history, course of disease, and TCM syndromes;physical examination included height and weight;laboratory tests included blood sugar, blood lipids, and uric acid.Statistics were performed using SAS 9.1 software. Results: A total of 920 subjects were included in the study, including 307 patients with psoriasis vulgaris in the case group and 613 healthy people in the control group. The incidence of metabolic disorders in the case group was 86.97%(267/307),which was significantly higher than that in the control group(78.96%,484/613)(P<0.05).The triglyceride and BMI values in the case group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).In the distribution of TCM syndrome types, the incidence of metabolic disorders in the blood stasis group of psoriasis vulgaris was 93.26%(83/89),which was significantly higher than that in the blood-heat group(87.10%(162/186))and the nonblood-stasis and non-blood-heat group(68.75%)(22/32).(P < 0.05).In the two groups of adiponectin test, the case group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05),but there were no statistical differences in the three TCM syndromes of blood-heat syndrome, blood stasis syndrome,non-blood-heat syndrome and blood stasis syndrome(P> 0.05).Conclusion: 1.The risk of psoriasis vulgaris complicated with metabolic disorders(mainly lipid and glucose metabolism)is increased, and the patients with blood stasis syndrome of Chinese medicine are the most significant.2.The concentration of adiponectin in peripheral blood of patients with psoriasis vulgaris is lower than that of healthy people, especially those with blood stasis syndrome.
