Clinical Observation Of Tongbi Zhitong San For External Application Of Senile Knee Osteoarthritis (liver And Kidney Deficiency, Cold And Dampness Syndrome)

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Tongbi Zhitong powder in the treatment of senile knee osteoarthritis with liver and kidney deficiency and cold dampness Bi obstruction syndrome,so as to provide a new choice for clinical prevention and treatment of senile knee osteoarthritis.Methods: 64 cases of senile knee osteoarthritis were divided into two groups according to the principle of random control,32 cases in each group,to ensure that there was no significant difference in age,gender,course of disease,X-ray classification of knee joint,TCM syndrome score between the two groups.In the treatment group,Tongbi Zhitong powder was applied to the knee joint of the affected side,and in the control group,Xiaotong plaster was applied to the knee joint of the affected side.The treatment period was 14 days.Before and after treatment,the clinical sym ptoms and signs,VAS score,WOMAC score and TCM syndrome score were collected to determine the clinical efficacy and safety of Tongbi Zhitong powder.RESULTS: Sixty-four patients were selected in this trial,4 of them did not complete the observation test due to the reasons of not taking drugs according to the regulations,and a total of 60 patients were finally included in the medical statistics,including 30 in the treatment grou p and 30 in the control group.The results showed that the treatment group showed a certain advantage in pain VAS score,knee function WOMAC score,TCM syndrome score improvement(P<0.05),and good safety.During the clinical observation,except for two patients in the control group and two patients in the treatment group who had mild pruritus when they began to use the drug,the rest of the patients did not have any adverse reactions.Conclusion: Tongbi Zhitong powder can alleviate the knee joint pain,improve the knee joint function and TCM syndromes,and improve the quality of life of the elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis.The external application of Tongbi Zhitong powder is safe without obvious adverse reactions.
