| BackgroundWith the popularity of smart phones and the abundance of applications,mobile phones have been deeply embedded in People's Daily life.While greatly facilitating People's Daily life,the time and frequency of using mobile phones also increase,and their intensity may even reach the level of addiction.The rate of mobile phone addiction is increasing year by year all over the world and college students become the main object of social concern.Mobile phone addiction not only has a negative impact on college students' academic performance,interpersonal relationship and life quality,but also closely related to individual physical and mental health.Therefore,it is necessary to build a theoretical model to explore the mechanism of college students' mobile phone addiction.ObjectiveBased on the Yin-Yang theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine,the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the specific personality traits and the tendency of machine addiction.Under the guidance of the personality hierarchy theory and the general Internet addiction model,the parallel and/or chain mediating effects of alexithymia and negative coping style are discussed from different perspectives.MethodA total of 870 valid subjects were selected from 3 universities in Changsha,Hunan province.The Chinese version of The Test of Mobile Phone Dependence,Toronto Alexithymia Scale,the Five-Pattern Personality Test,and the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire were used to carry out the test.Data were processed and analyzed using SPSS18.0 and Mplus7.0.Result1.College students' alexithymia,negative,Taiyin personality trait and mobile phone dependence tendencies differ in gender,grade and place of origin.2.There was a significant positive correlation between Taiyin personality trait,alexithymia,negative coping style and mobile phone addiction(p<0.01).By comparison,among the 5 personality traits of FPT,college students' Taiyin personalitytrait was significantly positively correlated with mobile phone addiction(P<0.01),and the correlation coefficient reached the highest.3.There were significant positive correlations between Taiyin personality,alexithymia,negative coping style and mobile phone addiction,except that the EOT was not significantly correlated with the prominence and abstinence symptoms respectively(p<0.01).4.College students' Taiyin personality trait,alexithymia and negative coping style can significantly predict the phone addiction(p<0.01).5.Alexithymia and negative coping style respectively play a partial mediating role in the influence of Taiyin personality trait on mobile phone addiction.6.Taiyin personality trait positive prediction of college students' mobile phone addiction through the chain mediating effect between alexithymia and negative coping style.ConclusionThis study found that alexithymia and negative coping style play a chain mediating role in the influence of Taiyin personality trait on mobile phone addiction,and alexithymia is a key node in the prevention and intervention of mobile phone addiction. |
