Purpose:To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine on primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)of liver and kidney yin deficiency, compare the changes of visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP),optic nerve fiber layer thickness(RNFL)and TCM syndrome score before and after treatment. To prove the effectiveness of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of primary open angle glaucoma with liver and kidney yin deficiency, and to open up new ideas and methods for the treatment of primary open angle glaucoma with liver and kidney yin deficiency.Material and method:I chose to visit the Ophthalmology Clinic of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The time of treatment was from January 20 to October 1818,and 62 patients(124 eyes)with primary open angle glaucoma who met the criteria for inclusion of liver and kidney yin deficiency.According to the random number table method,31 cases(62 eyes)were divided into the control group and the treatment group. The control group was treated with Chinese herbal medicine based on Qiju Dihuang Decoction;the treatment group was treated with acupuncture and acupoints on the basis of the control group, and 4 weeks was used for one course of treatment. Both groups were treated for one course of treatment, and timolol was given at the same time.Eye drops eye drops. The visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP),optic nerve fiber layer thickness(RNFL)and TCM symptom scores before and after treatment were compared.Results:1.The treatment group was compared before and after treatment in terms of visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP)and TCM syndrome scores, and statistical analysis was performed(P<0.05).The difference was significant and statistically significant.2.The contrast of the control group before and after treatment in terms of visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP)and TCM syndrome scores were statistically analyzed(P<0.05),and the differences were statistically significant.3.The treatment group and the control group were compared after treatment in terms of visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP)and TCM syndrome scores.Statistical analysis(P<0.05),the difference was significant, and statistically significant.4.The optic nerve fiber layer thickness(RNFL)of the treatment group and the control group were compared before and after treatment. After statistical analysis(P>0.05),there was no significant difference, and there was no statistical significance.Conclusion:1.The treatment group has significant effects in improving intraocular pressure(IOP),visual acuity and TCM syndrome scores.2.The control group had significant effects in improving intraocular pressure(IOP),visual acuity and TCM syndrome scores.3.The treatment group was better than the control group in improving the intraocular pressure(IOP),visual acuity and TCM syndrome scores.4.The thickness of the optic nerve fiber layer(RNFL)in the treatment group and the control group was statistically analyzed before and after treatment, and the difference was not statistically significant.
