Objective: To observe the effect of Buzheng Xugu Pill on postoperative clinical outcomes of elderly patients with lumbar disc herniation after posterior discectomy.Material and method:Sixty patients with lumbar disc herniation admitted to the Department of Orthopaedics,Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2016 to November 2018 were selected and divided into Chinese medicine group and control group by random number table method.Two groups of elderly patients with lumbar disc herniation underwent posterior discectomy.The Chinese medicine group received oral Buzheng Xugu pills + mecobalamin tablets,and the control group received oral mecobalamin tablets.The treatment was treated for 4 weeks as a course of treatment.The improvement of pain before and 2 weeks after surgery,7 weeks after surgery and 3 months after operation were evaluated by VAS score.The ODI score scale was used to preoperatively.The improvement of lumbar function was compared 2 weeks after surgery,7weeks after surgery and 3 months after operation.The TCM symptom classification method was used to compare the improvement of TCM symptoms between the two groups after 2weeks and 7 weeks after surgery.Statistical analysis was performed using statistical software SPSS 23.0 to compare the efficacy.Results:1.VAS score: There was no significant difference in pain VAS score between the Chinese medicine group and the control group before and after 2 weeks(P>0.05).The VAS score between the two groups at 7 and 3 months after surgery,VAS of the Chinese medicine group The scores were better than the control group(P<0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in VAS score between the Chinese medicine group and the control group before and after surgery(P<0.05).2.ODI score: There was no significant difference in ODI score between the Chinese medicine group and the control group before and after 2 weeks(P>0.05).The ODI score between the two groups at 7 and 3 months after operation,the ODI score of the Chinese medicine group.Compared with the control group,the comparison was statistically significant(P<0.05).The intra-and post-operative ODI scores of the Chinese medicine group and the control group were statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Efficacy evaluation of TCM symptoms: There was no significant difference in the total scores of TCM symptoms between the Chinese medicine group and the control group at 2weeks after operation(P>0.05).The total score of TCM symptoms between the two groups was 7 weeks after operation,and the TCM group was superior to the control group.Statistically significant(P<0.05)Conclusions:1.discectomy for the treatment of elderly lumbar disc herniation is effective.2.Postoperative combined with oral Buzheng Xugu pill can improve the curative effect and significantly improve the postoperative VAS score,ODI score and TCM symptom score.
