Clinical Observation On Treatment Of Ulcerative Colitis By TCM According To Changes In Four Seasons

Purpose:The influence of the four seasons on the disease should be considered in the treatment of Ulcerative Colitis.Treatment according to syndrome differentiation is one of the major features in traditional Chinese medicine.According to the different characteristics of the four seasons,traditional Chinese medicine treatment was applied in Ulcerative Colitis based on viscera syndrome differentiation.To explore the medication regularity in treating Ulcerative Colitis by the theory of the seasonal variation and analyze its clinical effect through observing the clinical symptoms,signs,and provide a new method of better treatment with traditional Chinese medicine for Ulcerative Colitis.Material and method:82 cases of Ulcerative Colitis(damp heat type of large intestine)in accordance with the criteria of UC,then randomly divided into trial group and control group according to the random number table method.Treatment of all patients by Tong Guan Tang and Zhi Xue Guan Chang Powder with Traditional Chinese Medicine enema.On the basis of TCM syndrome differentiation,the subjects of the trial group were treated with the decoction of Paeonia lactiflora according to the theory of seasonal variation,and the control was given the decoction of Paeonia lactiflora.Observe the change of two groups' clinical comprehensive curative effect and TCM syndrome effect and the changes of intestinal mucosal lesion after the treatment,and analyze by statistics.Results: 1.Statistical Ulcerative Colitis(damp heat type of large intestine)patients with seasonal distribution,the trial group in the spring,summer,autumn and winter was 8 cases,10 cases,4 cases,19 cases.The number of patients in the control group was 10 cases,9 cases,5 cases,17 cases,and there was no statistical difference between the two groups.2.After three courses of treatment,the total effective rate of clinical comprehensive curative effect of the trial group was 82.93%,and the control group of the total effective rate was 75.00%,P =0.042(P <0.05),and there were differences between the two groups.3.The total effective rate of intestinal mucosal lesion of the trial group was 85.37%,and the control group of the total effective rate was 75.00%,P =0.024(P <0.05),and there were differences between the two groups.4.The total effective rate of TCM syndrome effect of the trial group was 90.24%,and the control group of the total effective rate was 82.50%,P =0.043(P <0.05),and there were differences between the two groups.5.After the treatment,the TCM symptom scores of the trial group was 3.29±3.34,compared with 14.10±2.44 before treatment,P =0.000(P <0.05),with significant difference.The TCM symptom scores of the control group was 5.70±4.18,compared with 14.12±2.30 before treatment,P =0.000(P <0.05),with significant difference.Comparison of TCM symptom scores before treatment between the two groups,P =0.963(P >0.05),and there was no statistical difference.Comparison of TCM symptom scores between the two groups after treatment,P =0.005(P <0.05),and there were differences between the two groups.6.After three months of follow-up,the recurrence rate of the trial group was 9.09%,and the recurrence rate of the control group was 28.57%,P =0.049(P <0.05),and there were differences between the two groups.Conclusion: 1.The clinical results showed that there was a seasonal pattern in the incidence of Ulcerative Colitis(damp heat type of large intestine),with the largest number in winter,followed by spring and summer,and the fewest in autumn.2.It is effective for the Ulcerative Colitis(damp heat type of large intestine)to be combined with paeoniflorin and Traditional Chinese Medicine enema by Tong Guan Tang and Zhi Xue Guan Chang Powder.3.The trial group was more effective in improving the clinical comprehensive curative effect,the TCM symptom scores and the intestinal mucosal lesion.It was shown that the treatment based on the theory of seasonal variation had remarkable clinical effect on Ulcerative Colitis(damp heat type of large intestine),the recurrence rate was low and there was almost no adverse reaction,worthy of promoting.
