Clinical Study Of Bizhi Tongqiao Decoction In The Treatment Of Adenoid Hypertrophy In Children (Phlegm And Heat Combined Type)

ObjectiveTo observe the curative effect of Bizhi Tongqiao Decoction in the treatment of children’ s adenoid hypertrophy(phlegm heat combined type),and to open up a new idea for the treatment of children’ s adenoid hypertrophy based on syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsSixty children with adenoid hypertrophy(phlegm heat type)were randomly divided into treatment group(n=30)and control group(n=30).The treatmentgroup was given Bizhi Tongqiao Decoction orally,and the control group wasgiven mometasone furoate nasal spray(neishuna)combined with montelukast sodium chewable tablets orally.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks,4 weeks as a course of treatment.The TCM syndrome score,adenoid volume score and quality of life score of the two groups before medication,4 weeks after treatment and 1 month after drug withdrawal were statistically analyzed,and the clinical efficacy of the treatment was evaluated according to the results.Results1.Comprehensive efficacy:after a course of treatment,the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 93.33%and 73.33%,respectively,with significant difference(P<0.01).2.Intra group comparison:after treatment and after the end of follow-up,the main syndrome,secondary syndrome,total score of TCM syndrome,A/N ratio and quality of life questionnaire in the treatment group were improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);in the control group,except for repeated cold,strong appetite,dry stool,halitosis,molar symptoms and mouth opening breathing after the end of follow-up,there was no significantimprovement The other scores were also improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05).3.Comparison between groups:after treatment and follow-up,compared with the control group,the treatment group had the same curative effect in the main symptoms of nasal obstruction,secondary symptoms of dry throat or pain,strong appetite and tonsillar hypertrophy,the difference was statistically significant(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the other scores of the treatment group were better than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.No adverse reactions occurred during the study.5.There was no abnormality in the safety indexes during the study.ConclusionBizhi Tongqiao decoction has a significant effect in the treatment of adenoid hypertrophy in children,which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and signs of children.
