Patients with craniocerebral injury are generally in a severe state of injury and have a high possibility of death, disability or persistent vegetative state(PVS)survival. In addition, the subsequent rehabilitation period is long. The sudden distress and high cost all make the family members of patients bear great pressure mentally, economically and physically and suffer great harm in mind and spirit. In clinical work, family members of patients with craniocerebral injury are the main source of support and care for the patients, and they are the main supporter during the treatment and rehabilitation of patients. In the previous nursing work, patients are the key objects of nursing and health education, while the family members of patients are often neglected. With the improvement of medical technology, modern science of nursing has realized that whether the family members are physically and mentally sound and their understanding and mastery of the nursing knowledge of diseases have a direct bearing on the patients' rehabilitation and quality of life. From the moment the family members learn the patients' craniocerebral injury, they not only need to try every means to raise money for treatment, but also adapt to changes in their living environment and their own social activities. They are more in need of support from their families, friends, professional institutions and the society. For this reason,in the slow process of rehabilitation and treatment, not only does the patient need various interventions, but also the social support of the patient's family members is an issue worth paying attention to.Based on the theory of social support network,in this paper, using the method of group work, with family members of patients with craniocerebral injury admitted to Suzhou C Rehabilitation Centre,as the object of survey and research, the author tries to understand the real situation of the family members of patients with craniocerebral injury at present through an interview, sort out the situation of the usage of social support network by family members of patients to deal with difficulties and caring pressure and explore an path for giving social work intervention in patients with craniocerebral injury. On the basis of practice, the author tries to help the family members of patients to improve and expand their social support network and offers suggestions in terms of policy and service. In this paper, through investigation,it found two viewpoints.Firstly, the conditions of family members of patients with craniocerebral injury vary from person to person, but the difficulties and problems in their daily care are similar, which are mainly reflected in the caring pressure and emotions of the family members themselves.Secondly, they play a caring role for a long time, undergo great pressure and are faced with the needs for economic and material support, the need to vent pressure and get emotional support, the needs for interpersonal support and social interaction, the need to acquire information and resource and the need to establish support groups, etc.By sorting out and analyzing the current social network of family members of patients,by drawing on domestic and foreign research findings and practical experience, through six group activities, from the perspective of formal and informal support network and by giving material support, information support, emotional support, and expertise support, the author constructs and improves the social support network for the family members to cope with difficulties. The important contribution of this paper is first embodied in investigation and analysis. It sorts out the existing problems and needs of family members of patients with craniocerebral injury.Secondly, based on the group work in social work, this paper offers social support to family members of patients and helps them reconstruct the social support network. Finally, according to the service process and service effect, the author recommends policies for the government, community, etc.to set up a material support system for the family members of patients and suggests increasing service input from professional social work.
