Objective: This study intends to observe the clinical efficacy of Jinhuang ointment in the treatment of superficial second degree burns. The control group is treated with MEBO.The clinical comparative observation is made from the aspects of wound exudation, swelling, pain, blister condition and wound healing effect,so as to provide a new clinical treatment method for superficial second degree burns. Methods:According to the principle of simple,randomized,non-blind and controlled clinical observation,60 patients who met the criteria of enrollment were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group. Each burn patient debrided and drained blisters under the same conditions, removed the separated epidermis, and cleaned the wound with 0.5% iodophor solution. The treatment group was treated with Jinhuang ointment, while the control group was treated with MEBO.All wounds were treated with MEBO.Pain, erythema, exudation, swelling, blisters and wound healing were recorded in detail.Blood and urine routine, liver and kidney function, electrolyte and C-reactive protein were recorded before and after treatment.Adverse reactions during treatment were recorded. The course of treatment lasted 10 days. Results: There was no significant difference in wound pain between the treatment group and the control group(P> 0.05);the wound healing time was approximately the same(P> 0.05);the wound healing rate between the treatment group and the control group had no significant difference on the 3rd,5th,7th and 10 th day after the treatment(P> 0.05).There was no significant difference in the comprehensive scores of symptoms between the two groups(P> 0.05)before and on the 3rd,5th and 7th day after treatment, but the symptoms in the treatment group were significantly alleviated until recovery(P < 0.01),and the symptoms in the control group were significantly improved until recovery(P < 0.01),and there was no significant difference in the comprehensive therapeutic effect between the two groups(P> 0.05).To sum up,the curative effect of the treatment group and the control group in the treatment of superficial second degree burns is similar. There is no significantdifference between the two groups in the analgesic effect, healing time, symptom score before and after medication and comprehensive treatment effect. Conclusion: There was no significant difference between Jinhuang ointment and MEBO in pain relief, recovery promotion and symptom score after treatment in patients with superficial second degree burn(P> 0.05),but they were both effective(P < 0.01).It is suggested that Jinhuang Ointment has the functions of clearing heat and detoxification, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, relieving swelling and pain, removing saprophytic muscles and promoting the rapid growth of skin epidermis.By improving local microcirculation, increasing local blood supply, speeding up the repair of surrounding tissues, improving local immunity,it can relieve pain, control infection and anti-exudation,promote the liquefaction of necrotic tissue of wound, and regenerate and repair residual skin tissue cells in a humid environment. As mentioned above,Jinhuang ointment is an effective and safe dressing for treating superficial second degree burn and scald, which is worthy of further promotion and application in clinic.
