In 2017,the term"depression"appeared for the first time in the form of the theme of World Health Day,which marked the issue of depression as an important public health problem worldwide,and its attention has risen to the international community.Level.The form of depression in China is also not optimistic.However,in sharp contrast to this grim situation,the Chinese public and society are unfamiliar and unfamiliar with depression.The construction and presentation of the"other"image of patients with depression has a long history.The media is inextricably linked to the expression and construction of the image of people with depression.The development of science and technology with the Internet as the core,especially the development of new media technology,has brought about unprecedented changes in the media environment.This has made the knowledge of health communication related to depression popularized to some extent,and the public recognizes depression.Knowledge is gradually becoming more open.In the era of traditional media,this"other"phenomenon is the most influential and direct carrier is news reporting.As a vulnerable group,the image of depression patients in the media is often not expressed by their own voice,but by media with the right to speak.This top-down structure of rights is destined for the presence of"others"in people with depression.However,the advent of the new media era has changed the traditional power structure,and the status quo of discourse control has been subverted,giving the former vulnerable group,the"other"self-speaking export,to some extent deconstructing its"other"identity of.Based on Foucault's power theory and other concepts,this paper combines social situation theory,cultural identity theory,symbolic interaction theory,etc.,and uses text analysis,virtual ethnography and in-depth interviews to explore the communication mode brought by new media technology.Subversion and the impact of changes in power structure on specific groups.The study found that in the context of new media,on the one hand,the subject of depression-related reports is more rich,the perspective is diverse,and the image of patients with depression is more three-dimensional.However,there are still various forms of stigma in the report.The image of patients with depression is still continuing in the process of news production.On the other hand,the pattern of news production and presentation has changed.The power gap between the media organizations that have been the main body of news reports and the depression groups that are reported objects is being resolved.At the same time,due to the absence of gatekeepers,depression The quality of related reports is more uneven than that of the traditional media era,and the"other"image of patients with depression presents a more complex trend.The depression patients under the new media are no longer simply in the"other"status,but gradually establish self-identification through the information sharing mechanism of the Internet and the social media platforms such as WeChat,Weibo,Douban,and Zhizhi.Knowing and group identity,they are active in the virtual online community,and have realized the transformation of various identities such as"opinion leader","positive responder"and"self-encourager"to deconstruct the passive Image of "the other".
