| After the founding of the People's Republic of China,the new people's regime investigated systematically schistosomiasis epidemic situation of Songjiang County.The natural and social factors of Songjiang County determine the prevalence of schistosomiasis of Songjiang County.Schistosomiasis is an endemic disease,the geographical environment and ecological climate of Songjiang County provide suitable natural conditions for the epidemic of schistosomiasis.Schistosomiasis is also a social disease,the daily production,living habits and social development of residents in Songjiang County promoted the prevalence of schistosomiasis.From1951 to 1970,Songjiang County prevented schistosomiasis by building a professional team for schistosomiasis prevention and treatment,treating schistosomiasis patients,and carrying out mass prevention movement of schistosomiasis,made great results.During this period,Songjiang County treated more than 180000 patients and treated each patient 3 times on average;the total area of the snails was reduced to 31800 square meters,which was 99.8% lower than the original total area;built 1195 harmless septic tanks,so that each production team in the endemic areas of schistosomiasis has an average of 1 to 2,which realized basically the harmlessness of feces;built 4049 brick wells,made the production teams of epidemic schistosomiasis have an average of 5 wells,realized basically eating the well water.The reason why the Songjiang County schistosomiasis prevention and control campaign achieved such results was not only because of the establishment of a professional prevention and control system and the mobilization of the broad participation of the masses,but also related to the use of political movements.Songjiang County schistosomiasis prevention and control campaign is related closely to the political movement,its development is influenced deeply by political movements.The agricultural cooperative movement brought pressure and motivation to the prevention and control of schistosomiasis,which made it possible to eliminate schistosomiasis into production planning and labor planning,and promoted the development of Songjiang County schistosomiasis prevention and control movement.The "Great Leap Forward" movement has brought about a double impact on the Songjiang County schistosomiasis prevention and control movement.Under the influence of the "Great Leap Forward",the Schistosomiasis prevention and control work in Songjiang County not only made a major breakthrough,but also destroyedthe environment and wasted resources.The socialist education movement helped the Songjiang County schistosomiasis prevention and control movement to educate cadres and the masses,rectify the schistosomiasis prevention team,promoted the development of the schistosomiasis prevention and control movement in Songjiang County.The turmoil caused by the first two years of the "Cultural Revolution" made Songjiang County schistosomiasis prevention and control campaign cause serious setbacks.After the rectification,from the winter of 1969 to the autumn of 1970,Songjiang County strengthened comprehensively the schistosomiasis prevention and control campaign,made major breakthroughs in the treatment of patients,the elimination of snails,manure management and water management.At the end of 1970,Songjiang County met Shanghai's basic elimination(control epidemic)schistosomiasis indicators and acceptance assessment requirements and announced the basic elimination of schistosomiasis.Songjiang County schistosomiasis prevention and control campaign is a microcosm of the new Chinese movement-style governance before the reform and opening up,despite it experienced a tortuous process and did not eliminate completely schistosomiasis,but it was always committed to eliminating schistosomiasis,controlled schistosomiasis to a state close to extinction,protected the lives and health of the people,supported agricultural production and laid a solid foundation for the elimination of schistosomiasis in Songjiang County in 1984. |
