Research On The Architecture Of Modern Catholic Churches In Northern Henan

As Catholicism was introduced into China in modern times,counties and cities in Henan province began to build churches,monasteries,convents and other Catholic buildings.As an important carrier of western culture,Catholic architecture has certain protection and research value.Catholicism was first introduced into Henan province from the northern part of Henan province.Nanmenli Catholic church in Weihui city,slide county Catholic church in Anyang and Puyang Catholic general church in Puyang are some well preserved Catholic buildings in northern Henan province.Through understanding the historical background of the introduction of Catholicism into Henan province,the author conducts research on the Catholic buildings built in modern times in the north of Henan province,and selects the sacred heart church,Nanmenli Catholic church,Anyang slide county Catholic church and Puyang Catholic general church as the main research objects.By sorting out its historical background,surveying and mapping,collecting relevant data and drawing drawings,the author understands and explores the orientation,plane shape,spatial layout,main facade composition,architectural structure and architectural details of these three Catholic monomer buildings.At the same time,the author studies and analyzes the bishop's living room in the south gate of Weihui cathedral complex,and designs the protection of old monasteries in need of repair and protection.This paper summarizes and analyzes the integration of Chinese and western culture in Catholic architecture,and finally looks forward to the future development of Catholic church architecture in northern Henan province.It is hoped that through the exploration and discussion of this paper,more people can know about the modern church buildings in northern Henan,so that the historical buildings will receive more attention and be better protected.
