Research On The Application Of "one Thing, Multiple Uses" Design Concept In The Design Of Home Furnishing Products

“Multifunction” means,the functions of one product develop as customers' needs change,which makes one product to satisfy different needs.A product with Multifuction has advantages on economy,user experience,and design ethnics.On the other hand,with the development of society,users have more requirement on better price,occupied space and experience for home appliance.Austainable development is widely accepted as a guiding thought and responsibility from the perspective of environment.By studying many examples of Multifuction,this essay summarizes their characters to acquire their methods,which applies Multifuction in the product design properly.In this case,this essay helps designers with more economic and interesting home appliance design,which meets environmental social needs at the same time.This essay is divided into 6 parts.The first part is introduction of research background,including background,related theories,and methodology.The second part analyzes design philosophy of Multifuction dialectically to find out the definition,advantages,current situation and problems.The third part summarizes principles and methods of Multifuction while applied in actual industrial design.The forth part concludes characters,user needs,current situation and problems of present home appliance.The fifth part gives design practice and plan based on above research.The last part is the conclusion of essay,including research summary,research limits and expectations.
