"Ningqiang Qiang Embroidery"-Traditional Embroidery Research In Ningqiang County, Shaanxi Province

"Qiang" can be divided into broad sense and narrow sense.The Qiang is ancient and great.Many ethnic groups in our country were evolved from the ancient Qiang.It can be said that the ancient Qiang is a "blood transfusion ethnic group".Ningqiang County in Shaanxi Province has been the place where the Di and Qiang ethnic groups live down the ages.With the change of time and population,Qiang have always been the main people in this area,and the customs of Qiang have been prevailing in this area.Ningqiang is located in the border area of Gansu,Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces,and in the corridor area of Tibetan,Yi and Qiang.Unique geographical location breeds Ningqiang traditional embroidery with unique style,which is called "Ningqiang Qiang embroidery" by local people.Its embroidery culture is representative and typical and has high research value.Although Ningqiang traditional embroidery is called "Ningqiang embroidery",there are still controversies in the academic circles about the origin and inheritance of Ningqiang culture,whether the current Qiang culture was formed after the migration and settlement of Qiang in other areas due to the war,the similarities and differences between Ningqiang embroidery and Qiang embroidery,and whether Ningqiang embroidery is a branch of Qiang embroidery.At present,there are few researches on Ningqiang embroidery,most of them only stay at the level of pattern and technique,and few of them combine Ningqiang history with Ningqiang embroidery.Embroidery,as the wisdom and crystallization of a ethnic group,is an important part of ethnic culture,which can more intuitively reflect the ethnic characteristics of a ethnic group than other cultures.Either is Ningqiang embroidery.Its patterns,functions and cultural connotations are the concrete manifestations of the distinctive cultural characteristics of the region and the ethnic group,reflecting the cultural development and change of the region and the ethnic group.This paper mainly uses the methods of literature research,field investigation and interview,and comparative study to discuss Ningqiang Qiang embroidery.The paper is divided into four parts:the first part summarizes the historical evolution of Ningqiang;the second part summarizes the basic characteristics of Ningqiang embroidery from three aspects of pattern,technology and function;the third part explains the cultural connotation contained in the pattern of Ningqiang embroidery and its embodiment in the folk culture;the fourth part analyzes and discusses the origin of Ningqiang embroidery from five aspects:historical process,pattern,technique,inheritance and cultural connotation,and draws a conclusion.Based on the historical development of Ningqiang embroidery,this paper analyzes the Di Qiang heritage in Ningqiang embroidery from the perspective of historical and cultural changes,and discusses and summarizes its basic characteristics,cultural functions and connotations in depth.By comparing with Sichuan Qiang embroidery,a typical representative of Qiang embroidery,this paper briefly analyzes the origin of Ningqiang embroidery,demonstrates that Ningqiang culture and Ningqiang embroidery inherited and developed the original Di Qiang culture,and draws the following conclusions:Ningqiang embroidery and Sichuan Qiang embroidery belong to the same origin at the beginning of their birth.They gradually split up in their own development process after historical changes,and moved towards their own development path.There are both similarities and differences between Ningqiang embroidery and Qiang embroidery.In a broad sense,Ningqiang Qiang embroidery belongs to a special branch of Qiang embroidery.
