| As the builder and defender of the urban city environment, the sanitation industry provides urban residents with a beautiful, livable and comfortable living environment. It also shoulders the task of providing city appearance and environmental public health services for the economic and social functions carried by the global cities.Sanitation workers have long lived in the embarrassing situation of low income and low social status.Nowadays, when workers choose their careers, few people will be willing to join the sanitation team, resulting in the instability of the urban sanitation team. Therefore, strengthening the human resources management of the urban sanitation industry and effectively inspiring the city’s sanitation workers are of great significance for the construction of a beautiful and livable city, and are also conducive to the harmony and stability of the city. This paper takes the sanitation enterprise in Huangpu District as an example to study the incentive factors of sanitation workers, and explains their preference characteristics based on their personal background and work background.Based on this, the corresponding sanitation worker incentive policies are formulated for government and enterprise management.Thereby maximizing the potential of sanitation workers, improving their working ability, and promoting the construction of beautiful and livable cities.I also hope to give a meaningful reference to human resource management and employee incentives in China’s sanitation industry. In this paper,15 incentive factors were identified through literature review and employee interviews, and 200 questionnaires were distributed to sanitation workers in the sample.Empirical analysis of incentives was performed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and analysis of variance. The study found that the sanitation workers in the sanitation industry have higher evaluation of the importance of incentive factors. The top five factors are work injury compensation, overtime allowance, fixed wages, labor protection measures, and social insurance.Work injury compensation is the most important incentive factor and is related to the industry’s own labor-intensive,open-air outdoor operations. The top five factors that are most dissatisfied are fixed wages, overtime allowance, social insurance, professional identity, and work injury compensation. For the sanitation enterprises in Huangpu District, the fixed salary, overtime allowance, social insurance, and work injury compensation are hygiene factors. The sanitation workers have high demand, but the existing incentives do not fully satisfy them. |
