Research On Mechanism Of Safety Conscientiousness Influence On Safety Behavior On Construction Project

In construction projects,the employee's unsafe behaviors are very important reasons of the accidents.The conscientiousness(C)as a kind of personality traits have important influence on people's behaviors.Conscientiousness rarely been studied in construction project safety field,and there was no professionalization research on conscientiousness in construction safety domain,namely safety conscientiousness(SC).For employees' lack SC in related construction projects,SC worth to be researched to improve employees' safety behavior in order to improve the safety performance of construction projects.This research introduces the concept of C to the construction projects safety area,from the perspective of the SC to explore the effective ways to improve construction safety performance.Firstly,based on literature research and structured interview,specified the concept of SC and refine the questionnaire contents which reflects the SC.Secondly,based on structural equation modeling(SEM),studied the C impact on safety behaviors of staffs in the construction projects,and from the angle of the sense of C,the advices of safety performance improvement been put forward;based on exploratory factor analysis(EFA)and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA),determined the factor structure of the construction projects SC and the questionnare of SC.This part of the research is the important foundation of the research of mechanism of SC influene to safety behavior.Thirdly,based on SEM,studied the influence of various factors of SC on safety behaviors and the causal relationship between factors of SC,in this way we find the mechanism of the various factors fluence on safety behavior;then this research explore the moderate role of employees' length of service/age/education background characteristics on the influence of SC on safety behavior / safety culture and the influence of safety culture on safety behavior;This part laid the foundation to guide the construction project safety management practice.Finally,based on the results of the above steps,the result of C and SC impact on safety behavior has been compared;From the safety training,safety regulation,safety meetings,safety rewards and punishment,staff collocation aspects targeted specific measures are put forward for the construction project safety performance improvement;then summarized the whole research and pointed out the defects of this research.This study introduces the C to construction project safety,creatively puts forward the concept of SC,riched the theory concept of C,and offers a new way for construction project safety related research;Developed the assessment scale for SC,provides the measurement tools for SC;Found the function mechanism of the influene of diffident factors of SC to safety behaviors and moderate role of employees' length of service/age/education background characteristics on the influence of SC on safety behavior / safety culture and the influence of safety culture on safety behavior,provide theory basis for targeted safety management;Puts forward SC improvement measures,guide the practice to efficiently improve the construction project safety performance.
