A company can hardly develop well without a team of highly educated and skilled workers;therefore,the brain drain is bound to reduce the company's core competence and increase its human resource management cost.In the case study of A Company,a company mainly specialized in the casting,installation,marketing and maintenance of foundry equipment like cast steel product and cast iron product,a serious brain drain arose in its operation,which exerted a great influence on the achievement of its strategic target and sustainable development.According to the questionnaire survey and field study about the current brain drain situation and the reasons leading to it,it has been found that most of the resigning staff were young adults aged from 18 to 24,technicians in the front line and highly educated and skilled workers who had worked for 2 or 3 years.Among them,the majority still chose to work in the same industry or applied jobs in other manufacturing companies.The main reasons of this phenomenon are related to individuals,the organization of the company and external environment etc.The staffs believe that their performance is not well recognized and the salary is very unsatisfying.Since the company has a remote location,the inconvenience of commuting,as well as the issue stated above,plays a pivotal role in this.In addition,the impacts of government policies and development in this industry exacerbate this situation.Base on the above analysis,it is recommended that A company should take measures to improve staff salary,optimize evaluation system,provide staff with scientific career management system and at the same time pay attention to the inspiration of the staff and create a harmonious company culture,so as to address the brain drain problem effectively.In the paper,the author not only provides practical advice for the human resource development,but also offers positive suggestions for other companies to solve the brain drain problem.
